The Beautiful Loneliness of the Artist
How to bring your creative work to the world — successfully and genuinely
Why do you create? Because you have no choice.
As an artist, as an individual, your connection with the divine energies that created you, that fill you with purpose, meaning and desire, is a direct one. It’s a gift you can’t even begin to measure.
You don’t need third-party validation. You were born valid. You were born whole. And inside your shell — a weave made up of millions of masks and voices — you are still whole. There is at all times a perfect, pristine copy of the wholeness of you that was born with you. It’s the light that fills you and illuminates your creative process.
The problem is that most of us, artists or not, don’t always (or even often) see our intrinsic, unique value. We don’t believe in it. We don’t trust it. We feel miserable and small without some kind of external validation.
Listen to the tension
For artists, that tension can be overwhelming. Because you are filled with a message that comes from a very deep place — one that is multiplied by your most intimate, most fragile experiences and emotions. You’re so much more open. So much more attuned to the human heart. So much more vulnerable.
